Beijing People's Art Theatre was founded in June 1952. As the most prestigious professional drama theatre in China, Beijing People's Art Theatre has formed a distinctive acting style during its more than 60 years of artistic development, creating the famous "School of Beijing People's Art Theatre".

Beijing People's Art Theatre now has five performing theatres, including the Capital Theatre, Beijing People's Art Experimental Theatre, Cao Yu Theatre, People's Art Small Theatre, and Juyin Theatre, which together entertain about 240,000 theatregoers annually.
