In May 2023, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism launched the 15 Performing Arts Space Incubation Projects for the first time on the Beijing Municipal Performing Arts Service Platform. In September 2023, the Star Theatre was selected for the program and received incubation support for performing arts spaces at the municipal level.

Located in an old courtyard house in the Chaoshou Hutong on Xuanwumen North Street in Xicheng District, the Star Theatre stands as a cross-border art park featuring cultural experiences, including drama production, theatre operation, resident shows, copyright trading, themed dining and literary bookstores. After years of development, the Star Theatre has launched nearly 60 IPs of original plays, with an average of over 1,300 performances annually and a cumulative audience of about 6 million.

In light of the descending ages of audiences, Star Theatre has launched a number of immersive and interactive plays favored by young people, such as the immersive suspense drama Miss Julie.

In addition, a themed art bookstore, a coffee shop, an art gallery, and two cultural themed restaurants are also set in the Theatre, realizing the integration of arts, entertainment and leisure functions, making the place a "Broadway in the Courtyard".
