Beijing's medicine and healthcare industries are now thriving with strong momentum. According to the customs statistics, Beijing's imports and exports in the medicine and healthcare industries reached CNY 81.06 billion in the first half of this year, accounting for 21.3 percent of the total imports and exports for similar goods nationwide, and up 0.4 percent year on year. Specifically, the imports of pharmaceutical ingredients and medicines reached CNY 64.56 billion, a 1.1 percent year-on-year increase, the largest of its kind domestically.

Thanks to the multiple innovative models that have been built up for years, Beijing has demonstrated to the world the scale effects of these domestically pioneering endeavors. Beijing's continuous breakthroughs in the medicine and healthcare industries also contribute to its accelerated growth in foreign trade.
