As an important component of Shougang Park, the N1-2 Transfer Station of the No. 2 Building carries a unique historical mission. During its industrial manufacturing period, it was an ancillary facility of the No. 1 Blast Furnace. During the Winter Olympics in 2022, the Olympic Committee chose to be based here. At present, the transfer station has been updated to become an efficient business space, a tangible result of the harmonious coexistence of the industrial heritage sites and the city where they are located. It now provides a broader range of office options for the enterprises in Shijingshan District.
The design of the transfer station adopts both new and old elements, keeping the trace of history while integrating the quintessence of modern infrastructural craftsmanship. Tianche Plaza which is located on the south side was originally the granulating basin of the No. 5 Blast Furnace. During the renovation, the industrial relics like a railway track were preserved to create a space for public activities against the surrounding landscape.
The N1-2 transfer station features floor-to-ceiling glass panels on all sides, ensuring superb natural lighting. It is equipped with two high-speed passenger elevators, which guarantee highly efficient passing through inside the company. The 2nd and 3rd floors are linked to the dining building, providing employees with convenient corridors to the latter. The meeting room on the top floor has the top-quality multimedia equipment, comfortable chairs, and big desktops. The company logos are hung on the west side of the top floor, visible to all vehicles passing from west to east on Fushi Road, thus providing the brands with continuous and extensive exposure. The top floor has a terrace, which serves not only as an additional space for outdoor activities but also an ideal choice for a single-company office.
