From June 8 to 10, Beijing's parks will offer 35 Dragon Boat Festival-themed events across three categories, namely folk custom experiences, cultural performances, and science exhibitions. Plants, poems, and customs associated with the Dragon Boat Festival will be fully highlighted for the events this year. From June 8 to 10, venues such as the China National Botanical Garden (North Garden), Zhongshan Park, and Yuyuantan Park will take visitors on a journey to identify plants through real-life observation and interactive lectures, initiating a cultural and scientific education session for this summer. At parks such as the Temple of Heaven, Taoranting Park, Yuyuantan Park, and Fragrant Hills Park, visitors can participate in traditional folk custom-themed events including "She Wu Du" (an archery game in which players shoot arrows to the patterns of the animals known as "Wu Du" or "Five Poisons", which include snakes, scorpions, centipedes, toads and spiders), drawing with cinnabar, land dragon boat racing, wearing five-color silk threads, and making scented sachets and zongzi (a Chinese dish made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves), to seek blessings for health and peace.

The Dragon Boat Festival-themed classical and modern Chinese poems will be also displayed at Taoranting Park, Zizhuyuan Park, and the Summer Palace. Visitor experiences will be further enriched by various other events featuring, such as, the making of the traditional mortise-and-tenon joints at the Summer Palace, the crafting of the "Five Blessings" Chinese knots at Beihai Park, Cloisonne enameling at the China National Botanical Garden (North Garden), and Lacquered Fan dyeing at Beijing Zoo and Zhongshan Park. On June 8, a parade featuring performers dressed in Hanfu (traditional attire of the Han ethnic group) will take place along the main road of Fragrant Hills Park.

During the holiday, the exhibition titled "A Story of Gardens VI - Charm of Classical Chinese Wooden Furniture Transcends Time and Space" will debut at the Summer Palace, featuring exquisite cultural artifacts. On June 8, the "Breeze from Sea - Exhibition of Culture and Art of Fans" will kick off at Huafangzhai of Beihai Park.
