The 2024 Global Ecological Governance (Nansen) Conference was convened in Fengtai District, Beijing on October 16, bringing together hundreds of industrial leaders, top experts, and scholars from universities and colleges worldwide. Participants engaged in discussions on emerging trends, technologies, and policies in ecological governance, with emphasis on topics like the development of garden cities, biodiversity protection, and international horticultural development. The aim was to promote deep integration of innovation, industry, funding, and talent chains through new quality productive forces.
To amplify China's voice in the field of global ecological governance, this conference adopted a "1+8+1" model, featuring one opening ceremony, eight thematic sessions, and one supplementary meeting entitled “Garden Cities 2024: Heritage and Landscape Conservation”. The thematic sessions covered biodiversity, bird migration studies, garden cities, international horticultural development, the Beijing Forest Forum and forest therapy, ecological governance, "Data Empowerment for Smart Ecological Governance" initiative, and the planning and construction of the southern part of Beijing's Central Axis.
