The 2024 Global Ecological Governance (Nansen) Conference was held in Fengtai District, Beijing on October 16. Hundreds of industrial leaders, top experts, and university and college scholars around the world attended the conference to discuss new trends, technologies, and policies in ecological governance, focusing on topics like the development of garden cities, biodiversity protection, and international horticultural development. The aim was to promote deep integration of innovation, industry, funding, and talent chains through new quality productive forces.
Aimed at conveying China's voice in global ecological governance, this conference followed a "1+8+1" model, featuring one opening ceremony, eight themed meetings (which featured biodiversity, bird migration science, garden cities, international horticultural development, Beijing Forest Forum and forest therapy, ecological governance, the "Data Empowerment for Smart Ecological Governance" initiative, and discussions on the planning and construction of the southern part of Beijing's Central Axis, respectively), and one extension meeting titled "2024 Meeting for Heritage and Landscape Conservation of Garden Cities".
