Beijing's Foreign Trade Totals CNY 3.61 Trillion in 2024

In 2024, Beijing's foreign trade totaled CNY 3.61 trillion, exceeding the CNY 3.6 trillion mark for the third consecutive year. Market entities engaging in foreign trade became increasingly active, complemented by a more diverse range of trade methods and more efficient open platforms.

Regarding market entities, foreign-invested enterprises and private enterprises recorded imports of CNY 577.11 billion and exports of CNY 435.28 billion, up 1.5 percent and 11.9 percent, respectively.

The trade volume with the Belt and Road partner countries totaled CNY 2.12 trillion, contributing to a 0.1-percentage-point increase in the total figure. Notably, imports and exports to the United Arab Emirates and Argentina surged by 18.9 percent and 170.3 percent, respectively. Regarding traditional markets, imports and exports to the United States, Japan, and South Korea increased by 2.3 percent, 4.2 percent, and 20.2 percent, respectively.

In the information technology sector, the exports of mobile phones totaled CNY 72.69 billion, while that of integrated circuits reached CNY 24.8 billion, up 24.7 percent and 29.2 percent, respectively.

In the automobile manufacturing sector, the imports of auto parts rose to CNY 38.79 billion, up 14.1 percent, while the annual exports of automobiles reached CNY 21.34 billion, reflecting a significant 47-percent growth.
