The first Cluster for the Headquarters of International Science and Technology Organizations (hereinafter referred to as the "Cluster") was officially inaugurated and put into use at Donghu International Center in Chaoyang District, Beijing on May 31, thanks to the collaborative efforts made by the China Association for Science and Technology and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. Donghu International Center has therefore become home to eight international science and technology organizations including the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA) and the International Panel of Mesoscience (IPM).
International science and technology organizations serve as crucial platforms in the realization of shared scientific and technological values across the entire world. These organizations are vital bonds that integrate global innovative resources to drive the globalization of scientific technologies. Numerous international science and technology organizations have chosen to settle in Beijing since 2022. Among the entities settled are IHFCA and the International Coalition of Intelligent Manufacturing (ICIM). In recognition of this significant progress, their establishment was announced at the opening ceremony of the ZGC Forum this year.
The Cluster is set to provide international science and technology organizations with a variety of facilitation services regarding infrastructure, working conditions, funds, and people-to-people exchanges. It is expected to attract more international science and technology organizations and, consequentially, give fresh impetus to the development of Beijing as an international center for science and technology innovation as well as exchanges.
Beijing Association for Science and Technology is committed to utilizing its organizational capabilities and pool of talented individuals to provide precise, well-considered, and hospitable butler-like services to international science and technology organizations and professionals by focusing on streamlining contacts, promoting coordination, and delivering essential support.
Leveraging the establishment of the Cluster, Chaoyang District will maintain its unwavering focus on attracting international science and technology organizations. The District will also accelerate the construction of international hospitals, top-tier schools and talent apartments to provide a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment.
The Cluster has arranged public office areas for the branches of overseas non-governmental science and technology organizations in Beijing as well as the liaison stations of international science and technology organizations. In the future, the Cluster will orderly attract more international science and technology organizations and their offices in different batches and categories.
