On June 24, the State Science and Technology Awards in 2023 were announced in Beijing, with 2 recipients winning the national top sci-tech award, and 10 foreign experts winning the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

In total, 250 projects were selected across three categories: 49 for the State Natural Science Award, 62 for the State Technological Invention Award, and 139 for the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. Projects led by institutions in Beijing accounted for nearly 30 percent of the total award-winning projects in China, ranking first domestically.
