Recently, the blockbuster game "Black Myth: Wukong" has become the focus of public attention. In addition to exquisite visuals and a compact plot, the game also features fantastic stunts from characters like Wukong. Behind these stunts is a Beijing's company named Virtual Point, which provided technical support for the game with its self-developed motion capture technology, boosting the efficiency of motion production by over 30 percent.

To replicate the characters' lifelike expressions and smooth movements, the game production team applied a significant amount of motion capture technology. During the game's production, Virtual Point utilized OptiTrack, an optical positioning capture technology with spatial computing, to present players with blockbuster-level realistic scenes, character images, and action portrayals.

As a company that moved to Beijing's Shijingshan District in 2020, Virtual Point has been involved in the production of multiple films and games, such as "The Three-Body Problem", "Avatar", "Star Wars", "NBA 2K", and "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare", all of which are rendered through its industry-leading motion capture technology.

The fast-growing Virtual Point also helps drive the wheel of integrated development of virtual reality (VR), science fiction, and metaverse industries in Shijingshan District. Zhongguancun Virtual Reality Industrial Park, where Virtual Point is located, was formerly Shijingshan Pressure Vessel Factory. Currently, the park has attracted more than 120 companies, including 12 of "China's Top 50 VR Companies" in 2023 and 21 of "China's Top 100 XR Companies" in 2023, resulting in the formation of a cluster of outstanding players of the VR industry.

In collaboration with the park, Shijingshan District is accelerating the development of a cluster of science fiction industry in Shougang Park. Taking the opportunity brought up by hosting the China Science Fiction Convention, it has already established industrial spaces such as Zhongguancun Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center and launched 11 science fiction projects including SoReal Science Fiction Paradise and Baidu's Apollo Go unmanned driving project. Thanks to these efforts, a preliminary industrial development pattern has taken shape, featuring "content creation + IP commercialization + film and television special effects production + hard technology + immersive experience". A "Sci-Fi City", which embodies the charm of scientific imagination and the prospects of technological innovations, is rising rapidly in the western part of Beijing.
