The final showdown of the 6th ZGC International Advanced Technology Innovation Competition, part of the 2023 ZGC Forum, commenced on May 28. The final round was participated by around 40 innovation-driven enterprises from cutting-edge industries such as biomedicine, AI, intelligent manufacturing, and new materials.
A total of 127 segments covering 15 fields, such as AI, biomedicine, virtual reality, and metaverse, were featured in the competition. The current session of the competition showcased the largest number of projects ever seen, the most diversified competition segments, and the highest level of innovation witnessed to date.
An exhibition highlighting high-quality enterprises was also organized during the grand final, inviting representatives of 20 winning projects to showcase their cutting-edge core technologies and new products to visitors. On the same day, the ZGC Signing Ceremony for Investment and Financing for Advanced Technologies took place. The ceremony witnessed the signing of both equity investment and credit agreements between five investment institutions, four banks, and 59 enterprises. The total value of the signed contracts reached an impressive CNY 920 million.
Moreover, the competition also released a list of technology-based micro and small-sized enterprises (MSEs) eligible for financial support from Zhongguancun Science Park. The list includes 15 top ten enterprises from the competition, as well as 38 winning enterprises from the Beijing Division of China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. These technology-based MSEs were given financial support worth CNY 10 million in total for their research and development sectors.
In June 2022, the 6th ZGC International Advanced Technology Innovation Competition was officially launched. Themed "Leading Edge, Create the Future Together", the competition saw the submission of over 2,500 core technology-based projects from both Chinese and foreign sources, covering 15 fields of advanced core technologies. To be specific, international projects constitute 30 percent of all projects submitted, with most of them from 31 countries and regions such as Finland, Australia, Japan, Germany, the United States, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Russia.
