Beijing's New Quality Cultural Productive Forces Lead China

Winding up a fruitful year, cultural enterprises in Beijing have presented impressive achievements. In the first three quarters, cultural enterprises above the designated size in Beijing have achieved a business revenue of CNY 1,598.79 billion and a total profit of CNY 177.62 billion.

What makes the achievements even more eye-catching is that the integration of culture and technology as well as the development trend of new cultural business forms in Beijing are showing strong momentum. Enterprises with new cultural business forms in Beijing achieved a business revenue of CNY 1,144.99 billion, with a year-on-year growth rate of 11.7 percent. Their revenue accounted for 71.6 percent of the total revenue of cultural enterprises in Beijing and 27.5 percent of the revenue of new cultural business form enterprises across Beijing, 1.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate.

"According to the Cultural Industry Development Index of Chinese Provinces and Municipalities released by the Cultural Industries Institute of Renmin University of China, Beijing has ranked first in the country for eight consecutive years. Sub-indices related to new quality cultural productive forces in cultural fields, such as new cultural business forms, new cultural consumption, and the integrated development of the cultural industry, are in a leading position in the country", added Zeng Fanwen, the executive dean of the Cultural Industries Institute of Renmin University of China, when commenting on the achievements.

Statistics show that Beijing has promoted the filing and launching of 8 batches of 94 generative artificial intelligence large models, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the total number of filings in the country. It is worth noting that emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and blockchain have been widely applied and developed rapidly in Beijing, giving a powerful boost to the development of new quality cultural productive forces in cultural fields.

In recent years, Beijing has made great efforts in cultivating new cultural enterprises and new cultural business forms, new cultural scenes and new models, and vigorously promoted the construction of national and Beijing demonstration bases for cultural and technological integration demonstration bases, achieving remarkable outcomes. Sixteen units including BlueFocus, BOE and Leyard have been awarded the national demonstration base for cultural and technological integration, ranking first in the country in terms of quantity.
