Beijing Preserved Fruits boast a rich history that spans over a thousand years of evolution and development in northern preserved fruit production. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this traditional craft underwent several blendings between the royal court and local communities and ultimately became a renowned and distinct specialty of Beijing.

In 1915, the forerunner of Hongluo, originally known as Jushun, produced Beijing preserved fruits that earned a prestigious gold medal at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition . Subsequently, in 1951, the Beijing Fruit Preserves Factory was established through a partnership between public and private entities. By 2006, the Beijing Hongluo Foodstuff Co., Ltd.  was founded, ensuring the enduring legacy of traditional Beijing preserved fruit-making techniques.
