Yangqing District's 39th Ice and Snow Festival kicked off on November 8 and will run until February 28, 2025. This year's festival consists of more than 100 events centering on six major themes: winter tours at parks, winter sports participation, lantern display, spectator experience of winter sports games, well-selected hot springs and hotels, and intangible cultural heritage experience for the Chinese New Year.

In winter sports, Yanqing Olympic Zone has built a new snowboard slope, and will soon open Ruixue Avenue, which was used for downhill training for the 2022 Winter Olympics, to the public for the first time. In addition, Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort will open 10 sun-facing ski slopes.

Yudu Mountain, Yunpu Valley, Beijing Shi Yuan International Tourism Resort, Wild Duck Lake, and Longqing Gorge have all staged new seasonal events. Notably, under the theme of "Shining Through Time and Space", this year's Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern Festival will feature themed attractions like "Pop Mart Ice Fantasy City" and a mountain projection show. Beijing Shi Yuan International Tourism Resort also has impressive light shows planned, including a 360-degree immersive light performance at the China Pavilion. Dazzling lanterns will also be on display in an upcoming lantern art festival at the park, together with a traditional copper-pot long-table banquet featuring authentic rural flavors.

Yanqing will also host several high-level competitions during this ice and snow festival season, including the 2024/25 FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup - Parallel Giant Slalom, the National Skeleton Championship, and the Alpine Skiing Competition for University and College Students in Beijing. Other planned events include the "Chinese New Year Eve in B&Bs", flower fair performances, the "Dreaming Back to the Great Wall", and celebration of the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Yanqing District will issue ice and snow cultural tourism consumption vouchers worth CNY 2 million through two platforms, namely Ctrip and Qunar Travel. Everyone can search for "Yanqing's Consumption Vouchers" (延庆消费券) on either of the two Apps to claim vouchers and enjoy discounts when booking.
