Beijing Subway Installs 25 New Shared Lockers to Help Tourists

As the summer travel peak arrived, Beijing Subway has set 25 additionalshared lockers at 18 subway stations located in Beijing's key business districts and scenic areas such as Nanluoguxiang (South Luogu Lane), the Olympic Forest Park,andZhushikou, allowing tourists to store their belongings and continue their tours hands-free.


Nanluoguxiang Station on Line 8 is now equipped with a locker consisting of 21 cells of various sizes, including large, medium, and small. To use the locker, passengers can scan the QR code with their smartphones.

Currently, a total of 34 shared lockers are available at 23 stations of Beijing Subway.The most utilized lockers are those situated at the transportation hub stations where tourists can store their belongings once they shift from trains to subway, and then enjoy burden-free tours in Beijing. During the first week of July, the locker at Fengtai Station on Subway Line 10 served over 350 passengers, seeing a 10-percent increase compared with the previous week. Besides, the lockers at the stations close to scenic areas and business districtsare also used more frequently.
