On December 30, the 12306 China Railway (including its website and mobile App) has upgraded its pre-filling service for ticket booking, opened a special section "Pilot of Optimization of Pre-Filling for Ticket Booking" (购票信息预填优化试点), and introduced a new function of "Automatic Submission of Ticket Booking Orders to System" on a trial basis. Now, passengers can pre-fill the ticket booking information and pay the ticket fares in advance, and the 12306 China Railway will automatically submit orders for them according to their settings, so as to provide more convenience for ticket purchasing.

Starting from December 30, 2024, the railway authorities have piloted the function of "Automatic Submission of Ticket Booking Orders to System" in the sales of the tickets of the long-distance trains shuttling between the stations in Beijing Municipality, Tianjin Municipality, Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Guangdong Province and those in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality. This will last until February 8, 2025. Users of the 12306 China Railway can now pre-fill booking orders of tickets of trains departing on any day during the upcoming Spring Festival rush (January 14 to February 22) in the newly opened section "Pilot of Optimization of Pre-Filling for Ticket Booking". Each order with one departure date covers up to 60 trains. Each user can have simultaneously up to six ticket booking orders to be submitted, with the number of passengers for each order not exceeding nine.

The 12306 will send each user a notification on the 16th day before departure to remind the user to adjust the priority of the intended trains, confirm the booking information, and choose whether to prepay the ticket fares. The prepayment amount shall be that of the order with the highest fare. When tickets are available for sale on the 15th day before departure, the 12306 China Railway will automatically submit ticket booking orders for prepaid users in accordance with the priority order, and these orders will be listed alongside other ticket booking requests made through other channels following the order of the submission time. After a successful ticket purchase, if the prepaid amount is higher than the actual ticket price, the difference will be automatically refunded. In case of an unsuccessful purchase, the user will receive a full refund without any additional fees. In case of no prepayment, users can still manually submit their orders when the tickets are available for sale according to existing procedures.
