2024 CIFTIS to Be Held in Beijing in September

On May 21, the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) Reception for Foreign Diplomatic Missions and Rep. Offices of Countries and International Organizations was held in Beijing. It has been disclosed that the 2024 CIFTIS will run from September 12 to 16.

This fair’s theme will be "Global Services, Shared Prosperity". So far, nearly 50 countries and international organizations, including France, Ireland, Japan, Australia and Mexico, have preliminarily confirmed their participation and exhibition arrangements.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and France, and it is also the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism. The French national pavilion will be set up, and as the guest of honor for the 2024 CIFTIS, France will host a range of activities on sports, healthcare, investment and other trade in services. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), as a new international partner for the fair, will have a booth to showcase the applications of global intelligent meteorological technology and global climate monitoring technology.

This fair will invite foreign government departments, foreign embassies and consulates in China, and international organizations to introduce development policies, advantageous sectors, and cooperation projects. It will also engage domestic and international industrial associations and prominent enterprises to launch various activities, including thematic promotional business talks, purchase intention release, supply and demand docking, contract signing, and exchanges. The purpose of these efforts is to stimulate the import and export of high-quality services and promote investment cooperation. So far, seven promotional events targeting foreign countries like the UK and Thailand have been held. Famous enterprises such as Philips, Amazon, and GE have confirmed their participation. Institutions such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) will host nearly 100 negotiation and exchange activities.
