From May 19 to 21, the first "Beijing Chaoyang International Tea Culture Festival" will be launched at Junwangfu Hotel in Beijing and along the banks of the Liangma River. A full range of tea utensils and tea sets will be unveiled on site, and the high-quality teas of major tea brands in China will be exhibited and displayed. Meanwhile, stove-boiled tea, hanfu (traditional clothing of the Han ethnic group) experiences, performances and other sub-events will be available, providing visitors with immersive tours featuring the traditional Chinese tea culture.
Junwangfu Hotel will be open to the public from May 20 to 21, with reservations required. Sub-events including tea exhibitions and tea-related experiences will be launched there. An exhibition featuring the history and culture of tea will be opened, where Chinese and foreign visitors will be able to appreciate the beauty of China's tea culture through tea utensils and tea sets made of gold, silver, copper, iron, porcelain, purple clay and other materials. In addition, the exhibitions of the cultural relics from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Five Great Kilns, and the production processes of Jingdezhen porcelain products will also be unveiled.
In the meantime, many well-known tea enterprises and brands will gather in Chaoyang to present their renowned teas. New products made by enterprises including Tea Statement, Nayuki, Guanye, Teasure, ZEALONG as well as other imported teas will also be displayed.
In addition, ten leading enterprises of the tea industry in Yunnan Province, which are based in prefectures and cities including Pu'er City, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture and Lincang City, will bring teas and famous snacks from the province to offer tasting experiences, aimed at getting the residents in and tourists to Beijing familiar with the authentic, unique tea culture of Yunnan.
From May 19 to 21, the sub-events along the Liangma River will be opened to the public. Multiple tea brands will hold tea-themed fairs in the traditional Chinese style, the fairs featuring new tea drinks, and interactive sub-events related to tea culture, among others, at Junwangfu Wharf, Yansha Wharf by the Liangma River, the SOLANA Waterfront Platform and other major sites on the banks as well as on cruise boats.
Traditional Chinese music performances will also be staged at Beike Theater in Chaoyang Park. While on a cruise trip to enjoy the scenery along the Liangma River, visitors will be able to partake in tea-themed sub-events held along the river and feel the charm of tea culture from a close distance.
