On April 22, the Chinese Athletics Association's official website released a notice announcing the completion of the solicitation process of bidding cities for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in accordance with the relevant requirements. Following thorough research, it was found that Beijing is the only city to have applied and met all the necessary solicitation requirements.
The World Athletics Championships is a premier international athletics event hosted by World Athletics. Initially held every four years since its inception in 1983, the championship has been held biennially since 1991. Beijing successfully hosted the 15th World Athletics Championships at the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) from August 22 to 30, 2015. Over 2,000 athletes from more than 200 countries and regions competed in 47 events, offering the world a spectacular sporting extravaganza. Currently, Beijing is fully dedicated to the bid preparations for another World Athletics Championships, with high hopes of hosting the event again after 12 years.
