On the morning of October 21, the Beijing Central Business District (CBD) received the symbolic handover gift from Pierre-Yves Guice, the CEO of La Défense, the current president of the Global Business Districts Innovation Club, marking its official ascension as the next president. From 2025 to 2027, Beijing CBD will take on a new identity as the presidential organization of the Global Business District Innovation Club, and make China's voice, Beijing's voice and CBD's voice heard externally on the international stage, and contributing China's insight and Beijing's experience to the development of the business districts worldwide.

Located in the central Chaoyang District of Beijing, Beijing CBD covers an area of approximately 7 square kilometers, with a thriving environment of modern business services, a high degree of openness in the service sector, and outstanding economic contribution. In 2023, it generated about CNY 130 billion in tax revenue and contributed 8.5% to Beijing's total tax revenue in spite of accounting for just 0.5% of the city's total land area.

Beijing CBD capitalized on the opportunity presented by the conference to announce its global partnership initiative, aimed at forging a more open and mutually beneficial path for cooperation by uniting business districts worldwide in six key areas: sharing information and best practices, exploring global business trends, enhancing industry interaction and connectivity, fostering cultural and intellectual exchange, promoting sustainable development and green economic collaboration, and facilitating talent exchange and innovation partnerships.

Beijing CBD is a vital bridgehead in the capital's opening up and an important gateway for international exchange that benefits immeasurably from its inclusion in the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. In the future, Beijing CBD will give full play to its position as president of the Global Business Districts Innovation Club to integrate global resources and work with international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme and other club members to drive sustainable development and digital transformation, researching policy, establishing new standards, promoting international exchange and cooperation, creating new platforms for open collaboration, and incubating innovative demonstration projects. Beijing CBD will collect successful experience to promote mutual learning and share best practices while deepening cooperation among global business districts, aligning itself with their development experiences, and further expanding institutional openness in regulation, management, and standards to create a first-class market-oriented, rule-based business environment.
