Beijing CBD was recently selected to serve as the president of the Global Business Districts (GBD) Innovation Club. Its presidential term will start in 2025 and end in 2027.

Beijing CBD will use the opportunities presented by its election to the presidency to convey its unique voices, Beijing's voices and China's voices to the rest of the world and contribute Chinese wisdom and the experiences of Beijing to the development of business districts worldwide, aiming to achieve greater openness through international cooperation and building new systems for a higher-standard open economy.

The GBD Innovation Club is the world's most authoritative non-profit organization dedicated to business districts. It consists of 14 members, including entities from Paris, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Casablanca, among others, spanning Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa. As part of its efforts to drive the development of world-class business districts, the GBD Innovation Club uses its own specially developed evaluation criteria to compile its report on the attractiveness of global business districts. In the most recent ranking, Beijing CBD ranked 7th globally, 2nd in Asia, and 1st in China.

After 30 years of development, Beijing CBD has grown into a vital channel for international exchanges. It is home to nearly all the foreign embassies in the city, 90 percent of Beijing's international news media outlets, 80 percent of international organizations, 70 percent of international financial institutions, and 50 percent of the regional headquarters of multinational companies, making it Beijing's most internationalized area by far.

Beijing CBD has been making efforts to build itself into a world-class business district since a few years ago. In 2023, it generated about CNY 130 billion in tax revenue, contributing 8.5 percent of Beijing's tax revenue in just 0.5 percent of the total area of the city. Notably, 145 buildings make tax payments exceeding CNY 100 million, making Beijing CBD the business district with the highest concentration of high-quality, high-efficiency buildings.
