The investment promotion activity featuring "Vitality and Motivation of Opening up Beijing" recently took place in Beijing. The event marks Beijing's first foreign investment promotion activity in 2023.

The investment promotion activity was centered around the theme of "Sharing Opportunities of Opening up 'Two Zones', Empowered by Intelligent Beijing". As introduced, Beijing boasts remarkable resilience, motivation, and potential for achieving high-quality economic development led by technological innovation. Remarkable achievements have been made in the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "Two Zones"). The city has steadily built itself into an international consumption center with a strengthened and expanded digital economy and an improved business environment. Beijing will stay focused on improving the business environment and providing better services for enterprises. The city encourages enterprises to enhance R&D and commercialization of innovative achievements, and take active measures to make Beijing a global digital economy benchmark. Based on Beijing's real economy growth and upgraded consumer demands, enterprises are supposed to make the most of the preferential policies to provide more quality products and services. Thus, they will help the city attract more high-quality business resources.

During the case-sharing section of the event, foreign-invested institutions and enterprises, including the China-Britain Business Council and Yokogawa Electric Corporation (China), shared their stories about developing together with Beijing. Representatives from foreign-invested enterprises and relevant districts of Beijing, investment and financing institutions, industrial parks, entities engaged in technological application, and innovation-driven enterprises communicated and exchanged ideas and thoughts at the event. Additionally, representatives from Israel, France, and other countries and regions promoted their technological projects on-site. According to representatives of different participating enterprises, they had a clearer understanding of the key fields and targeted industrial policies of the development of the "Two Zones" thanks to the event.

As for the next step, Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center will continue to lead and organize the following investment promotion activities that showcase the vitality and motivation of opening up Beijing. The center will work closely with relevant departments and districts in Beijing to highlight industries such as new-generation information technology, technological services, medicine and healthcare, intelligent equipment, energy conservation and environmental protection, and finance. The center plans to hold 206 investment promotion events in Beijing throughout the year and spare no effort to carry out more foreign-invested projects in Beijing.
