On March 1, Beijing's first economic and trade mission of the year set off for Belgium and the United Arab Emirates with more than 30 Chinese enterprises ready to participate in business negotiations.
The visit aims to highlight trade in services and establish an economic and trade platform. The mission is set to meet with the Flanders Department of Culture, Youth and Media in Belgium, the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Chinese Business Council in UAE. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing) will be looking to acquaint others with the business environment in Beijing and the cross-border trade policies in place for the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It hopes to seize the opportunities presented by digital economy and cross-border trade to explore new models for cooperation and invite foreign enterprises and institutions to settle in Beijing.
The visit will promote investment by focusing on key industrial parks. On March 6, the CCPIT Beijing will hold a business promotion event jointly with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in the United Arab Emirates. The event will invite government agencies of the United Arab Emirates, sovereign wealth funds of Abu Dhabi, and technological incubators like Hub71 for business negotiations with over 30 Chinese enterprises such as Beijing Shouchuang Langyuan Cultural Development Co., Ltd., promoting in-depth discussions on a variety of topics concerning enterprise innovation and incubation, sharing of information and resources, and market channel expansion to support project implementation and cooperation.
Moreover, the mission will make use of exhibitions as it seeks to expand overseas cooperation. It will meet and discuss with local convention and exhibition management agencies to promote China's cooperation with Europe and the Middle East in film and television, animation, and the game industry. Representatives from Chinese enterprises, such as Beijing Shouchuang Langyuan Cultural Development Co., Ltd. and Perfect World Co., Ltd., will have the opportunity to talk with the organizers and exhibitors of the 2023 Made in Asia Festival in Belgium and the Middle East Film and Comic Con 2023 in Abu Dhabi to explore the potential for cooperation in various fields.
As Beijing continues to pursue high-level opening up, the economic and trade mission will launch efforts to encourage enterprises in the city to win more overseas orders and attract more international enterprises to the city.
