The coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region is a major national strategy personally planned, deployed, and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping. Over the past ten years, under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Beijing Municipality has adhered to the fundamental principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important speeches on the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Beijing. Focusing on relocating functions nonessential to Beijing's role as the capital, Beijing has leveraged the influential and driving force of its core area to facilitate the close linkages between the "two wings" (i.e. Beijing Municipal Administrative Center and Xiong'an New Area). Significant breakthroughs have been achieved in key areas such as transportation, ecosystem, industries, and public services, establishing a development pattern characterized by shared goals, integrated measures, complementary advantages, and mutual benefits. The total economic output of the three administrative divisions has crossed the threshold of CNY 1 trillion for five consecutive times, reaching CNY 10.4 trillion, which is 1.9 times that of 2013. The overall regional strength continues to be enhanced, with the metropolitan area of Beijing as the modernized capital becoming vibrant, solidly moving towards a world-class city cluster.
