At 0:00 on January 20, Beijing launched a new subsidy initiative for purchases of mobile phones, tablets, and other digital products on the JD.com App. Beijing's citizens who purchase any of the three categories of digital products, including mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches (or smart wristbands), may each enjoy a preferential subsidy of up to 15 percent for a product priced below CNY 6,000. Each consumer may get a discount of no more than CNY 500 for one product of any of the covered categories, saving up to CNY 1,500.
Consumers in Beijing can get qualified to receive the subsidies in two ways: (1) search for "Jingtong" on WeChat to enter the mini-program, complete the real name authentication, find "Special Services" (特色服务) on the home page, navigate to the page of "Device Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade-in in Beijing" (北京市设备更新和消费品以旧换新专区), and click "Subsidies for Purchases of New Mobile Phones and Other Digital Products" (手机等数码产品购新补贴); or (2) search for "Subsidies for Purchases of New Mobile Phones and Other Digital Products" (手机等数码产品购新补贴) directly on WeChat to get qualified for receiving vouchers. Then, Click "My Voucher Codes" (我的券码) to check all the codes acquired and the usage conditions. After successfully obtaining the vouchers, consumers can search for "National Subsidies for '3C' Products in Beijing" (北京3C国家补贴) to enter the promotion page on the JD.com App ("3C" refers to computer, communication, and consumption-type digital products collectively) and purchase the products. Consumers may also search for eligible products on the JD.com App directly and purchase them with the subsidies.
