Beijing University of Chemical Technology's Presidential Scholarship

Introduction

In 2018, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) has established the Presidential Scholarship for doctoral students. This scholarship is designed to reward doctoral students who have demonstrated excellence in basic theoretical research and academic frontier explorations, exhibited potential in scientific research, and contributed to the innovation of applied technologies and their industrial utilization.


Application and Admission Processes

1. Every applicant must apply online through BUCT's application system, fill out the registration form, and upload the necessary application materials.

2. Preliminary review of documents;

3. Video interview and expert panel assessment;

4. Notification of final admission decision (all admitted applicants will be notified via email);

5. The applicant will receive the JW202 Form and the Acceptance Letter.


Materials and Conditions

 1) CV;

2) Two letters of recommendation from associate professors or above;

3) Research and study plan;

4) Master's degree required, with original transcripts and highest degree certificate (notarized), overall GPA not less than 3.0, age preferably not exceeding 40 years;

5) Passport size photos and passport copy;

6) Foreigner physical examination form;

7) Acceptance letter from the supervisor;

8) Certificate of no criminal record;

9) English proficiency or HSK certificate (minimum IELTS 6.5 for PhD; HSK Level 5 Chinese-taught courses);

10) Originals or scanned images of academic publications, patents, and other academic achievements (priority given if available).


Notes:

1. Every applicant must provide a preliminary acceptance letter from a professor at BUCT and upload it online. Without this, the applicant will not be considered a candidate.

2. Every applicant must upload all the aforementioned materials; otherwise, the applicant shall not be considered a candidate.

Timeline: The application opens in November each year and closes at the end of May the following year.

Quota: 10 recipients per year

Benefits: Tuition fee waiver and provision of on-campus accommodation

Living expenses: CNY 3,500 per month

Comprehensive medical insurance premium: CNY 800 per person per year

Coverage: The scholarship generally covers four academic years and is subject to annual review.
