(2) The Graduate School of CAAS Scholarship (GSCAAS)
The Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) offers the GSCAAS scholarship to international students and scholars with outstanding academic performance who wish to pursue higher education at CAAS. Those who have received scholarships from the Chinese government or Beijing government are not eligible for the scholarship.
Scholarship Benefits:
(a). Tuition waiver: Students are exempt from paying tuition fees.
(b). Free on-campus accommodation (all costs covered by GSCAAS supervisors).
(c). Living allowance (provided by GSCAAS supervisors):
Master’s students & General Scholars: 3,000 RMB;
Doctoral students & Senior Scholars: 3,500 RMB.
(d). Comprehensive Medical Insurance: The insurance fee is covered by GSCAAS.
2. Application Deadline
Applications for scholarships for the upcoming academic year should be submitted between January and April, prior to the application deadline. Please refer to the annual admission guidelines for specific deadlines.
3. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
(1) Non-Chinese citizens;
(2) Health: Applicants must be in good health and comply with the Chinese laws and decrees;
(3) Education background and age:
(a). Master's programs: holds a Bachelor’s degree and is under the age of 35;
(b). Doctoral programs: holds a Master’s degree and is under the age of 40;
(c). General Scholar: has completed at least two years’ of undergraduate studies and is under the age of 45;
(d). Senior Scholar: holds a Master’s or higher degree, or an academic title of associate professor or higher, and is under the age of 50.
(4) Language proficiency: English and/or Chinese proficiency.
4. Application Documents
(Submitting via the online application system)
(1) Application Form for Study in CAAS
Everyone is REQUIRED to fill in the GSCAAS online application system

Please leave Part II of the form blank, as it will be filled in by the your perspective supervisor and host institution when we officially refer your case to the institute. Please choose your major and host supervisor carefully based on the attached Supervisor List and only submit your application after a thorough discussion with the intended supervisor. The catalogue of the International Students Programs will be updated on regularly.
For those applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship, you must also register on the CSC Application System https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/register, fill out and download the CSC Application Form, then upload this form as an attachment in the "Add supporting documents" section of the GSCAAS online application system.
(2) Photocopy of the biometric page of your passport (with at least 2 years’ validity);
(3)Notarized highest diploma. Applicants must submit official proof of their student status from their current school. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations;
(4) Provide copies of your transcripts from each semester of your undergraduate, graduate (if applicable), and doctoral (if applicable) programs. These transcripts must be issued and sealed by the academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department of the university you attended. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized English translations;
(5) Two reference letters from professors or experts with equal titles in related fields;
(6) CV and research proposal (no less than 1000 characters or words): Please download the attached Study Plan Form of GSCAAS International Applicants and fill it in. The signature of your perspective supervisor is optional at the application stage;
(7) Language Proficiency Requirements: Provide an English Language Certificate, TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR score reports, or score reports from the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK);
(8) Photocopies of degree thesis abstract: If your thesis is written in English, submit the complete thesis. Additionally, include abstracts of up to 5 papers that you feel are representative of your academic work (full papers preferred). Please do not submit the photocopies of unpublished papers;
(9) No Objection Certificate issued by your current employer. This certificate should indicate that your employer has no objection to your scholarship application and that your study leave will be granted accordingly;
(10) Foreigner Physical Examination Form: You must undergo a health examination at hospitals designated by the Chinese Embassy, and include Blood Test Results as an attachment. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or records without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Medical examination results are valid for 6 months;
(11) Acceptance letter (optional): Applicants with an acceptance letter from CAAS professors will be given preference;
(12) Non-criminal record report: Submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by your local public security authority, typically issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application. Please upload the Non-criminal record report as an attachment in the "Add supporting documents" section of the GSCAAS online application system.
