China University of Petroleum-Beijing (CUP) launched its Chinese language program in the early 1990s. Aimed at aligning with the internationalization of the petroleum industry and cultivating homegrown petroleum professionals with a global perspective, the university has provided Chinese language training for employees of petroleum enterprises and established a department dedicated to teaching Chinese as a foreign language. So far, this initiative has offered Chinese language training for more than 5,000 persons (times), with participants from over 100 countries. It has consistently delivered an average of 7,000 hours of Chinese instruction annually.
