BMF - Music at Noon Concert Series No. 4
From the Country to the Courts
13:00-14:00 | Sunday | Oct 17
What, after all, is national music? What is German-Austrian music? The young musicians of the Novus Classica Camerata explore anew these two ideas in this concert. The journey begins with the rural pictures from Zoltán Kodály, the treasured Hungarian composer, through the core repertoire of German-Austrian music, namely Beethoven and Mozart, for the thread of development of European music. And chamber music is believed to betray more of the customs of the land than the symphonic repertoire. In the end, we arrive at the splendid baroque courts, where Vivaldi's famous Four Seasons sounded. From the country to the courts, from the rough to the elegant, what remains unchanging is the European blood in the music.
