BDA Rewards 'Green Projects' with a Maximum of CNY 5 Million for a Single Project

On December 5, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) unveiled the "Incentives Measures for Promoting Green, Low-carbon and High-quality Development, covering projects of 27 sub-categories across three key themes: Pollution Prevention and Control, Energy Saving and Carbon Emission Reduction, and Green Buildings.

The incentive measures include projects related to environmentally-friendly technology upgrades for air pollution prevention, with the reward standard increased from 20 percent to 30 percent of the actual payment amount. For projects involving the replacement of oil and gas commercial vehicles with hydrogen fuel cells and other new energy commercial vehicles are eligible for a reward ranging from 30 to 50 percent of their terminal retail prices, up from the previous 20 percent. Additionally, a single project falling under the "Green Buildings" category can now receive a reward up to CNY 5 million.

In 2014, BDA established a special fund for environmentally-friendly projects, subsequently, renamed the "Green Development Fund." From 2014 to 2022, BDA provided assistance to 596 projects centered on environment protection, energy saving, green buildings, etc., with a total amount of approximately CNY 333 million, and spurred enterprises to invest a total amount of CNY 1.662 billion in environmentally sustainable projects.

To date, BDA has successfully established 32 green factories, accounting for nearly 30 percent of the total in Beijing. Furthermore, BDA is also home to five enterprises specializing in green supply chain management, accounting for nearly 25 percent of the total in Beijing.
