As the temperatures gradually rise during the early spring, plenty of migratory birds have been spotted at the Grand Canal in Beijing Municipal Administrative Center. A couple of great crested grebes were found dancing for mating on the river surface near Huxin Island in the Grand Canal Forest Park. Some tufted ducks and Eurasian coots were swimming and foraging a few meters away. Mongolian gulls and great cormorants were also spotted flying in the sky, adding more vibrancy to the local canal areas.
