Vending machines selling drinks and snacks, shared power banks, electronic signs... Recently, intelligent connected bus stops have been put into use on Hongda Middle Road, Hongda South Road and many other roads in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town). Each stop combines several functions and can provide passengers and others with various services, including charging and shopping.

Hongda Middle Road South Stop is an intelligent connected bus stop not far from Rongchang Dongjie Station on Yizhuang T1 Line of Beijing Subway. On the left side of its 24-hour multi-functional convenience station is a vending machine selling snacks and drinks, while a self-service kiosk for renting and returning shared power banks can be found on the right.

Mobile phone wireless charging pads are embedded on both sides of every bench of this stop. Just lay your smartphone on a pad, and you can access free wireless charging services. Additionally, fire extinguishers are placed in the glass cabinets on both sides of the stop for emergency situations.

Hongda Middle Road South Stop also has a parking space for autonomous driving vehicles. It is reported that Hongda Middle Road, where the spot is located, is also a designated autonomous vehicle test area in Beijing E-Town.

The installation of wireless charging pads at several other stops is still underway. In the future, these brand-new bus stops will display information for passengers, such as real-time bus locations, crowded areas, and predicted arrival times. More functions are also scheduled to be introduced.
