As of September 8, 2024, Beijing Capital International Airport's international and regional passenger throughput had exceeded ten million, surging by 130 percent year on year, thanks to visa-free policies and a booming summer travel season.
Data shows that from January to August this year, Beijing Capital International Airport served a total of 280,000 flights and transported 44.85 million passengers, an increase of 18 percent and 34 percent year on year respectively. In August alone, the number of passengers at the Capital Airport reached 6.23 million, with an average of 200,000 passengers per day, a year-on-year rise of 19 percent. Among them international and regional passenger volume reached 1.46 million, up 55 percent year on year. August saw record numbers for both overall and international/regional passengers in the past four years.
By the end of August, the route network of the Capital Airport has reached 54 countries and regions with 217 destinations, including 127 domestic destinations and 90 international and regional destinations.
