Foreigners holding the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" shall apply for replacement within one month prior to the expiration of the certificate. Where the content of the certificate alters, the holder shall apply for replacement within one month after the alteration. Where the certificate is damaged or lost, the holder shall apply for replacement or re-issuance in a timely manner.

1. 2 2-inch front bareheaded white or light blue background colored photos and electronic photo (submitted in CD);

2. An original and a photocopy of the valid foreign passport and "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" of the applicant shall be submitted;

3. Foreigners holding the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" shall apply for replacement within 1 month prior to the expiration of the certificate;

4. Where the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card" is lost, an explanation of the loss written and signed by the applicant shall be provided.

1. Certificates issued by relevant foreign institutions shall be certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country. Or the applicant can submit certificates issued by embassy or consulate of his/her country in China;

2. Materials in foreign language must be translated into Chinese, and the translation company's official seal shall be affixed to the translation;

3. The original must be reviewed before submitting a photocopy, and a photocopy of A4 size shall be provided;

4. If the applicant needs to print the Chinese name on the "Foreigner Permanent Resident ID Card", he/she shall clearly indicate whether to print the Chinese name when applying;

5. Those who have not canceled their Chinese household registration shall cancel their household registration before application.
