On June 6, a launching ceremony was held at Yongtong Bridge (also known as Bali Bridge) in Chaoyang District, Beijing, to celebrate the completion of the renovation of this cultural heritage site, as well as to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Grand Canal's inclusion in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. The nearly 600-year-old Yongtong Bridge has undergone renovation and is now officially reopened to the public. Originally built in 1446, the bridge is the best-preserved and exquisitely structured stone bridge on the Beijing section of the Grand Canal.
