On August 16, the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area launched Beijing's first drone-assisted delivery route. This new "air corridor" enables the delivery of heatstroke prevention supplies, cooling items, and emergency rescue kits to tourists near designated landing points.

The landing point of Beijing's first drone-assisted delivery route is located at the No. 9 South Tower, part of the extended southern section of the Badaling Great Wall, which has been open to the public since the end of 2023. To preserve the area's original character, no commercial facilities have been established, making it difficult for tourists to replenish drinking water and other supplies. To address this issue, the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area has partnered with Meituan to launch Beijing's first drone-assisted logistics distribution route. At the No. 9 South Tower delivery outpost, tourists can scan a QR code with their smart phones to place an order on the takeout platform and receive supplies delivered by drone within minutes.
After daily operating hours, drones can also assist the operations and maintenance staff in the scenic area by transporting waste to designated recycling locations, helping to reduce their workload in the scorching heat.
