As summer vacation approaches, Beihai Park unveils a lineup of evening cultural activities, kicking off a festive season. Citizens and tourists are invited to enjoy complimentary folk music performances at the Wulong Ting (Five Dragon Pavilion) and the main entrance of Jingxin Studio. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the melodies of the guzheng and Kunqu Opera within Jingxin Studio's intimate garden setting and enjoy the welcoming dance by the pondside.
In the Jingxin Studio area, the soothing solo guzheng piece High Mountains and Flowing Water echoes melodiously through Yunqin Studio. The harmonious blend of a classic scene from the Kunqu Opera The Peony Pavilion with a modern light display conjures a feeling of journeying through time, enveloping the audience in a unique serenity and beauty. A captivating series of performances is set to unfold, featuring tea ceremonies, a duet of pipa and dongxiao flute titled A Moonlit Night on the Spring River, and the Jinghong Dance (Astonishing Swan Dance), each gracing the stage in turn.
The activities also include performances of intangible cultural heritage items like Sichuan Opera's face-changing, offering tourists an up-close experience of the unique allure of traditional arts.
