Beijing to Host Exhibition of Rare Sanxingdui Cultural Artifacts

On June 18, at the Conference on the Achievements of the 2024 Beijing Museum Month, the Capital Museum announced the launch of two major exhibition series this year which are themed on the origin of Chinese civilization and the exchanges among civilizations around the world". The inaugural exhibition of the "Origin of Chinese Civilization" series, titled "Unveiling Sanxingdui of Ancient Shu Civilization", will open on June 27 at the Halls 1 and 2 of the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing (East Branch of Capital Museum).

The exhibition features 265 sets of artifacts related to the ancient Shu civilization and consists of three sections. A collection of precious archaeological findings will be showcased in Beijing for the first time, allowing visitors to dive into the wisdom and creativity of the ancient Shu people and appreciate the glory and brilliance of Chinese civilization through these uniquely shaped artifacts.

This exhibition is co-organized by the Capital Museum, the Grand Canal Museum of Beijing, Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan of Sichuan Province, and Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, among others. It will run until October 10.
