In the first quarter of 2024, foreign tourists made 54,000 visits to Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area in Yanqing District, which is a 464 percent increase compared with that of last year, demonstrating the strong appeal of this scenic area to foreign tourists. To enhance the travel experiences of foreign tourists, Yanqing District has taken a series of innovative measures to continuously optimize international services.
Diversified Payment Options
The ticketing office at the scenic area supports cash payment and mobile payment options, and is now equipped with POS machines supporting foreign bank cards, thereby meeting the different needs of foreign visitors. Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area has been improving its shopping services and increasing the number of stores equipped with POS machines for foreign bank cards.
Upgraded Online Ticketing System
The scenic area's ticketing platform "Changcheng Neiwai" (长城内外) enables ticket purchasing for foreigners using passports and Foreign Permanent Resident ID Permits, and provides diversified ticket-checking services. Foreigners can enter the scenic area by presenting passports, Foreign Permanent Resident ID Permits, physical tickets, and QR codes, etc.
Active Provision of Multilingual Services
The scenic area has been vigorously promoting the development of an international language environment, with standardized bilingual signs for emergencies, guidance, and warnings, etc., totaling 940, forming a unified tourist directional system, ensuring worry-free guidance for foreign tourists. Multilingual training for service personnel has also been strengthened, with one-stop service windows supporting both Chinese and English being set up, providing ticket purchasing, exchanging, and checking services in English.
Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area will continue to enhance its level of international services and actively promote cultural tourism products with Beijing characteristics.
