New Exit and Entry Measures Adopted by 'Study in Beijing+' Program

The Exit-Entry Administration Department of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and Beijing Overseas Talents Center have teamed up with universities and colleges in Beijing, including Peking University and Beijing University of Technology, to launch a new 10-measure "Study in Beijing+" initiative, with five of the new measures facilitating easier exit and entry for international students:

I. Any foreign student of an overseas university or college invited by a "Two Zones" (the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Free Trade Zone) enterprise to participate in an internship can apply for a short-term port visa for private affairs (marked "Internship") to enter the Chinese mainland.

II. Any foreign student of an overseas university or college invited by a public institution in Beijing or a renowned Chinese enterprise to participate in an internship program in Beijing can submit the invitation letter and a certificate of enrollment from their university or college to apply for a one-year private affairs visa (marked "Internship").

III. International doctoral graduates are encouraged to conduct scientific research at postdoctoral research mobile stations and workstations in Beijing, and can apply for private affairs or work residence permits, with qualified candidates eligible to apply for permanent residence.

IV. Any outstanding foreign graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher in a key discipline from a "Double First-Class" university or college in China or an internationally-renowned university and college, who comes to China for innovation and entrepreneurship, may apply for a private affairs residence permit.

V. Any qualified international students of a Beijing-based university or college can submit an explanatory letter from the university or college and relevant documentation to apply for a study-type residence permit marked "Work-Study Program" to participate in a work-study program.
