Recently, the 12th China-Italy Science Technology and Innovation Week, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC and the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research, opened at Shougang Park. The cooperation week, themed "High-Tech Olympics and High-Quality Development", involved in-depth discussions and exchanges between representatives from China and Italy across various fields, such as Winter Olympics technology, smart manufacturing, design and art industries, cultural heritage preservation, youth innovation, and the blue economy.

At the opening ceremony, Yin Hejun, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC, delivered a video speech. Zhang Guangjun, Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC, Anna Maria Bernini, Italian Minister of Universities and Research, Yu Yingjie, Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality, Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to China, and representatives from government departments, universities and research institutions of both China and Italy attended the opening ceremony. Zhao Minge, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Shougang Group, and Liang Jie, Standing Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group, were also present.

Four projects between China and Italy were signed during the opening ceremony. This year's cooperation week, spanning two days, included events such as the opening ceremony, one-on-one matchmaking sessions for Sino-Italian science and technology innovation projects, and displays of collaborative projects. During the cooperation week, over 300 representatives from more than 150 Chinese science and technology institutions engaged in project discussions with their Italian counterparts. The representatives from universities, research institutions, and companies from both China and Italy engaged in communication and exchange during parallel forums such as the "High-tech Winter Olympics Forum" and "Intelligent Manufacturing Forum," effectively advancing the collaborative process in the field of science and technology between the two sides.
