On May 7, 2024, the 2024 Themed Field Visit to Mentougou District by Diplomats to China and BPAFFC Council Members was held in Mentougou District, Beijing, co-hosted by Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (BPAFFC) and Mentougou District People's Government of Beijing Municipality. Over 30 diplomats and business representatives from more than 20 countries including Canada, Greece, Morocco, New Zealand and Singapore, and international organizations across five continents, along with members of BPAFFC Council from diplomatic and economic sectors participated in this event.

Guests visiting Baheal Medical's base for commercializing scientific research achievements

At Zhongguancun-Mentougou Science Park, diplomats and business representatives visited the Science and Technology Innovation Central Exhibition Hall, Baheal Medical's base for commercializing scientific research achievements, Zhongguancun (Western Beijing) AI Exhibition Area, and Beijing Jingdiao Group, among other venues. Together they learned about the achievements and advantages of Mentougou District in promoting the development of artificial intelligence, biopharmaceuticals, and high-end manufacturing industries. Evgenios Kalpyris, Ambassador of Greece to China, remarked: "They have new facilities, new industries, modern industries that go well with the intention of the government to push for modernizing a new advancing technology protective forces, which is important for China."

Luca Rosi, an Attaché of the Embassy of Italy in China, stated that Mentougou District's efforts in nurturing its biopharmaceutical and artificial intelligence industries are of vital significance for future development. "These industries are beneficial for the development of medical and healthcare endeavors. I believe that there are many more opportunities for cooperation between China and Italy in these fields in the future."

On the same day, the guests also visited Yangpoyuan Village in Tanzhesi Town, where they toured Snow Peak's first store in Beijing, Ziyang Mountain Villa, Xitan Hotel, and other places alike, immersing themselves in the eco-friendly "slow lifestyle" of western Beijing.

Elia George Kaiyamo, Ambassador of Namibia to China, remarked that Mentougou is not only a picturesque district but also a historically significant resort destination. He stated: "I'm very quite happy to be here. This is a historical village resort. I will come back again with my family and enjoy the resource."
