Application materials:

1. A written request of patent: a written request of patent shall be included in the patent application documents; and the request shall indicate the type of patent applied for, as well as the name and address of the applicant (individual or entity that files the application).

2. Application documents: A description and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for invention; a description, drawings and claims shall be included in the application documents for a patent for utility model; and drawings or photographs of the design as well as a brief statement shall be included in the application documents for a patent for design.

Payment Methods

Applicants may choose the following payment methods:

1. Online: China National Intellectual Property Administration's web-site http://cponline.cnipa.gov.cn

2. Through Banks/Post Offices: Applicants may remit the payment to the Patent Office or its 34 local patent receiving agencies. The applicants should indicate the patent number and other necessary payment information for remittance.

3. At Patent Office or Local Patent Receiving Agencies: Cash, checks, bank cards (debit and credit), mobile payment (WeChat, Alipay, UnionPay).

In particular, fees for the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) international phase can only be paid online, by remittance to the bank account of the Patent Office, or by going to the Patent Office in person. No other payment method is accepted.
