The 2023 Beijing Marathon and National Marathon Championships (Beijing Station) will commence at 7:30 am on October 29. The starting point will be Tian'anmen Square, and the finish line will be on Olympic Park Avenue in the Olympic Central Area.
This year's course has updated while retaining the classic Beijing Marathon route, with number of turns in the track been reduced after 39 kilometers. The organizing committee has deployed 100 smart facial recognition devices to shore up event security. These devices will verify participants during the pre-race bib collection, on race day as participants enter, and during the distribution of goods to finishers, thus improving the efficiency of participant check-ins and improving overall event security.
The organizing committee has assembled a robust medical support team for the 2023 event, which includes 100 automated external defibrillators (AEDs), 30 ambulances, 26 fixed first aid stations, 300 medical personnel from 12 hospitals, 50 physician runners, and 600 observers for medical and event safety. The event will have 400 referees, 6,700 volunteers, and 448 vehicles to ensure the competition runs smoothly. Adequate refreshments will be provided to runners along the course, including drinking water, functional beverages, cooling sponges, energy gels, bananas, and pastries.
