Located in the ancient complex buildings of the Wanshou Temple, Beijing Art Museum is a national key cultural heritage protection unit covering an area of 30,000 square meters, with 14,000 square meters construction area. It was officially established in August 1987 and opened to the public in 1994.

Beijing Art Museum has collected the precious historical relics of more than 50,000 pieces. Among which, the collection of ancient Chinese art works is known for treasures handed down from as early as the primitive era to the Republic of China, with most impressive collection of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has a wide range of collections, covering paintings and calligraphy from previous dynasties, pottery and porcelain, ancient furniture, etc. The museum has five exhibitions, including exhibition on the history of Wanshou Temple, on Royal calligraphy and painting Art of the Qing Dynasty, and on traditional Chinese furniture. In addition, the Beijing Art Museum has long been committed to the research and protection of the ancient buildings of Wanshou Temple, injecting new strength into the study and conservation of traditional Chinese ancient buildings.

Closed on Mondays
