Set up in 2019, the Zhongguancun Award for International Cooperation is one of the Beijing Science and Technology Awards aiming to award foreigners who have conducted international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation with individuals and organizations in Beijing, and elevated the international level and global influence of Beijing's scientific innovation.

Selection Standards:

1. The candidate should meet at least one of the following standards:

A. The candidate has major scientific achievements in the cooperative research or development with individuals or organizations in Beijing, and the cooperation has produced remarkable socio-economic or ecological benefits, and promoted the social and economic development of Beijing.

B. The candidate has made great contributions in terms of introducing cutting-edge scientific technology to individuals or organizations in Beijing, proposing important suggestions and solutions to scientific development, and cultivating talent for scientific innovation or management.

C. The candidate should have made prominent contributions to promoting Beijing's participation in international big science research plans, projects, and exchanges and cooperation with other countries and international organizations.

2. The candidate should be, but not limited to, a foreign scientist, engineering technologist, or scientific management expert.

3. The candidate's cooperative partner should be registered within the administrative area of Beijing.

Selection Procedures:

1. The nomination system is adopted for the selection of the Zhongguancun Award for International Cooperation, and candidates should be nominated by the following individuals and organizations:

A. Winners of the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, winners of the Zhongguancun Award for Outstanding Contribution.

B. Relevant departments of and organizations directly under the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and districtgovernments.

C. Institutes, industrial associations and other organizations that meet the requirements of Beijing for nomination.

2.The selection will be conducted by the evaluation panel, which will put forward suggestions for winners to the awarding committee. 

Award:

Once every year with a maximum of 10 winners.
