The Badaling Great Wall will relaunch its night tours on April 30, which will remain open until October 6. Highlighting interactive activities and special dances, the night tours will feature various immersive performances, light shows, and a variety of cultural tourism services to create a brand-new night tour model that combines cultural experience, audiovisual spectacles, and interesting interactions.

The greatest highlight of this upgrade is an enhanced immersive interactive experience. Staff workers dressed in ancient costumes will show up across the area to greet tourists. A special blessing-delivering activity at post stations will allow visitors to write their wishes at the foot of the Great Wall, which will then be carried up to the top of the Great Wall by costumed messengers—adding romantic vibes to the night adventure. Meanwhile, in Badaling Cultural Block (八达岭文化街区), visitors will be treated to the prosperous scene of ancient tea-horse trade, paired with role-play games. These will bring ancient frontier culture vividly to life.

In terms of performances, the signature dance "Bonfire Beyond the Old Frontiers" (塞外篝火) will be staged. Blending traditional and modern art forms, the dance features vigorous movements and grand stage visuals. Simulated bonfires are set to enhance the atmosphere, and visitors can join performers in ethnic dances around the bonfires. Grand entry ceremonies, real-life interactions with patrolling soldiers on the wall and other engaging activities will enrich the night performance lineup.

Supporting services and facilities for the night tours have all been optimized for better experiences. Open areas for the night tours include Badaling Cultural Block and the section from North Watchtower No. 4 to South Watchtower No. 4.

Admission check: 18:30 – 21:00

Light illumination: 19:20 – 22:00 (subject to daily adjustments)

Performances: 18:30 – 21:00 (subject to daily adjustments)

Cable car rides (South Route): 17:30 – 19:30 (one-way uphill only)
