On March 26, the Cultural and Tourism Service Zone at Terminal 3 of Beijing Capital Airport officially opened. Currently, the zone offers transit travelers 15 travel itineraries, including day tours and half-day tours to attractions such as the Great Wall. Meanwhile, special night itineraries such as the Liangma River night tour are also available for passengers arriving in Beijing in the afternoon and transferring onward on early-morning flights, enriching the travel experience.
The Cultural and Tourism Service Zone is located in the international transit area of Terminal 3, positioned along the main route that inbound travelers take when heading to the transit area after landing. The service counter features not only promotional brochures highlighting cultural and tourism resources across Beijing's various districts but also souvenirs such as Bing Dwen Dwen and other Chinese specialties.
The zone features six functional areas, establishing a comprehensive service system that spans tourism, culture, and convenience services. Among these, the tourism products area offers international transit travelers dozens of travel options in Beijing and its surroundings. These diverse choices include traditional Beijing tours, the top ten classic tours, and tours close to the airport. Options range from visits to the Great Wall and hutong tours to night tours of Qianmen Street and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. The staff can also customize half-day and day tours for guests.
The cultural and tourism support area focuses on travel convenience for transit passengers, offering rental and sales of public transport cards and translation devices, facilitating local travel and communication for visitors.
The cultural and creative heritage area features a curated selection of Beijing-themed souvenirs and intangible cultural heritage items, enabling short-stay visitors to take away gifts rich in Beijing's cultural heritage.
The featured exhibition area displays a variety of intangible cultural heritage masterpieces, vividly presenting the richness of Beijing's intangible cultural heritage to international travelers.
In addition, the venue features a cultural tourism promotion area and a smart exhibition area, which collectively showcase Beijing's rich cultural and tourism resources and provide travelers with more in-depth cultural guidance.
As the number of inbound tourists continues to grow, Beijing is continuously upgrading its inbound tourism services. In terms of enhancing comprehensive services, Beijing will continue to leverage policies such as unilateral visa-free entry into China and the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, and further promote supporting measures, including departure tax refunds and cross-border payments, making them more user-friendly and convenient. Additionally, in terms of product upgrades, the city will focus on the "32+3" key source markets, implement tailored strategies for each region, and develop a range of customized, immersive inbound tourism products.
