2 More Subway Sections to Be Opened in Beijing This Year

Beijing plans to open a section of Subway Line 17 (Workers' Stadium-Shilihe) and the south extension part of Subway Line 6 (Lucheng-Dongxiaoying Nan (S)) this year. Besides, new entrances/exits will be put into use at several stations.

So far, the total operational mileage of Beijing's urban rail transit system has reached 879 kilometers. This year, Beijing has 10 more lines and sections under construction, totaling 177.4 kilometers.

According to the construction plan, this year will witness the full-line operation of Subway Line 17 including the new section (Workers' Stadium-Shilihe) and the opening of the south extension part (Lucheng-Dongxiaoying Nan (S)) of Subway Line 6.。

In addition, five entrances/exits will be ready for use to further facilitate passengers' trips, including the one at Dahongmen Station on Line 8, Entrance/Exit A at Suzhouqiao Station on Line 16, Entrance/Exit B2 at Futong Station and the accessible entrance/exit at Jingfengmen Station on Line 14, Entrance/Exit A at Dongsi Station on Line 5, and Entrance/Exit F at Dongsi Station on Line 6.
