As summer heats up, waters have become popular choices for many city dwellers to beat the heat. At Lishugou Leisure Valley in Pinggu District, Beijing, a rafting course with a total length of about 3,000 meters and multiple scenic elements is scheduled to open to the public on June 20. This is reportedly Beijing's first rafting course open day and night. Visitors can drift through the "Floral Tunnel" during the day and enjoy "light-chasing rafting" at night for a refreshing summer vacation.
The entire course is shaped like a dragon, with a vertical drop of 200 meters. Along this undulating course offering thrilling drops, visitors in their inflatable rafts can pass through three major ecological zones — forest, flower sea and ancient chestnut groves. Specifically, the ride includes five splash zones, five colorful culverts, and a 500-meter-long jungle waterway, offering 360-degree panoramic views of a vast forest spanning thousands of mu (1 mu equals roughly 666.67 square meters).
The "Floral Tunnel" special section is surrounded by seasonal flowers like garden cosmos and sulfur cosmos, creating a moving "floating floral corridor". The scenic area is also equipped with a dynamic snapshot system, allowing visitors to download photos of their exciting moments by scanning the designated QR code. In addition to intelligent sensors, there are rubber bumpers and water buffers at sharp turns for the safety of visitors.
To enhance the visitors' experiences, Lishugou Leisure Valley has integrated the large-scale nighttime water and light show "Pinggu Night Talk" to create Beijing's first nighttime rafting tour project. On Friday and Saturday nights, visitors can enjoy "light-chasing rafting" along a neon-lit glass slide. Interactive laser and mist effects are complemented by the 3D projections and music fountain of the mountain-top water and light show, forming a magical "water galaxy".
Besides water activities, there are other featured attractions such as mountain carts, Qi Jiguang Cultural Park, and the Millennium Chestnut Valley.
